Saddam Hussein was certainly a dictator and a tyrant and I am glad that he was overthrown. I expected that he would be tried and executed, but I expected that the process would be handled by the UN or at least by the United States, with a level of decorum and propriety that at least equaled the Nuremberg Trials of captured Nazis.

The way the Iraqis handled it was just gross. The trial looked like a Stalinist kangaroo court from the 1930s and the execution was worse. They had people chanting Shi'ite factional statements in the execution chamber and spitting in his face and laughing, and it just evoked sympathy on the part of many for a man who did not deserve any.

Bin Laden was killed by American special forces in a military operation that was conducted in a highly professional and commendable manner, and his body was quickly disposed of such that his grave could never become a shrine for jihadi scum.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
