Oh I am not saying that it sucks for this old guy who can't be bothered, it does suck.

But people just want plug and play. They will "WILL" the computer to do what they want via their force of personality. If it has directions these directions won't be read and either they get reduced functionality, reduced security, or will return the product. I work in the computer selling business and people just can't be bothered. One of the new things in desktops are these all in computers with touchscreen, lenovo makes a very nice model which is a computer, touchscreen, and tv in one.

Well for the remote control to work in this computer you have to do

1) Plug in the USB RF receiver into a USB port (since the remote is also an air mouse.)
2) Plug the infrared receiver into the USB RF receiver you just plug in (since the infrared receiver needs line of sight it has a small little wire you can move in front of the computer.) The remote control needs this so the remote will work.
3) Remove the paper slip for the remote control batteries.

This is all mentioned in a 20 inch sheet by 20 inch sheet piece of paper that has directions on it with big color pictures.

I have had two of these computers return on me since receiving them. Both of them couldn't figure out step 2 even though there is directions that are only 1 page long with big pictures. Now they return these computers and the returns people even showed them what they were doing wrong, and they still return the computer. This is very stupid of the customers since we charge a 15% restocking fee if the computer is returned and their is no defect, if the remote is working fine besides user error, we show the customer the user error and demonstrate the user error, and the still want to return it they are charged 15%. I had 2 customers who have done so

It's entirely possible you're focused on the wrong error here. - 26/04/2011 03:21:19 AM 448 Views
