I have photo evidence of this happening to me. I really was embarrassed to tell my family about this one.
Poor pup. You were only trying to help, though. I'm sure she's forgiven you already (if she even noticed).
Dog grooming is one of those things that looks easy but definitely isn't. I'm happy just to survive bathtime with my dogs. When Pippin was a baby, he literally levitated out of the sink and sat on my chest to avoid the evil cleansing water pit.

hmm. i would suggest a mat rake, then shedding blade, or you could try the furminator - less painful
