I know you think that... But I'm not so sure that you should be losing 1-2 pounds a week. Maybe 1 pound a week. Thing is most people who lose weight will gain it back. It can't be a diet.
Personally, for me weight has almost nothing to do with how much I'm exercising. Whenever I intensify my exercise routine I gain weight because I'm a lot hungrier. It takes some time for my metabolism to adjust and for my weight to go back to what it was before and stabilize. Now, if I were to suddenly *stop* all exercise, for the first couple of weeks I would actually lose weight.
So really, you're better off not paying attention to the scale. How about instead of setting weight goals, you set health/fitness goals (nothing too drastic)? Something like "I will exercise at least 3 times a week, even if it's as little as a couple of minutes of pushups and lunges" and "I won't go more than 24 hours without eating something green".
I'm above the normal range, but not ridiculous.
I'm heavy enough that 1-2 lbs a week wouldn't be unhealthy. I don't know if I'll lose that much though, given that I'll be exercising and developing muscle as well. I'm just going to cut the crap from my diet and see what happens. And I know enough to know what's crap and what's important, no matter what the "authorities" tell me.

That would apply even if you were obese. But I'm assuming you're not. Based on what you said, I'm assuming you're within the normal range.

For people who are fat, ideal weight loss should be 1-2 pounds a week. If you're not that fat and want to lose weight for reasons of vanity rather than health, it should be more like 1 pound a month. Or a year, really. I lost a lot of weight from age 18 to 21- about 2 pounds a year. I'm not saying that I weighed the same in December and in August, or on different times of the month or days of the week. It's my *range* of weight that shifted, however slowly.

Time for some community support.

Mass-produced sliced bread is gross. Fresh tasty bread is delicious.
