I quit using Internet Explorer during all of the IE6 issues and started using Firefox. IE7 and 8 went a long way to reverse their issues and now IE9 is on part with Firefox 4. A google Chrome is just the new guy and he doesn't have much to add to the discussion so I don't generally pay it a lot of attentions when it comes to the browser wars.
since as I understand it (I still use Windows XP so can't install IE 9 even if it's just to check it out), IE 9 is so successful precisely because it shamelessly ripped off Chrome (okay, and Firefo. "Not really innovative" - well, not if you're gonna mistake the copies for the original, no.
