The wedding is the entire day, right, ceremony + reception?

They're alright, but they're really not something I bend my back to get to
I dislike all the "pomp and circumstance" of most ceremonies. If I had it my way, I'd get married by proxy and just show up for the party

I've been tempted by Lake Tahoe small wedding venues. But we ended up opting not to do that. I may regret that at some point.
Uh NO. I watched my roommate plan hers though. Hers was relatively simple and straightforward and she was STILL busy and stressed out at times.
There's just a lot to be done.
I really enjoyed my roommate's wedding reception. There was nothing special about it, but there was so much happy-love-feel to the room I couldn't help but leave in a good mood (A very tired barely made the hour drive home mood, but a good one!!)
You were sober enough to drive? I thought most people got very drunk at weddings.
One where I didn't have to be there?
Yah like I'll get away with that...Just something really simple and small for the actual wedding. I dislike ceremony and I can't STAND being fussed over. If I had it my way, we'd sign the papers with our immediate families present, then have a massive bbq.

BBQ is nice. I like BBQ's. I guess I would have liked to have been fussed over if I had been younger when I get married (what an interesting verb tense construction).
No real preference...I like short and non-boring weddings, regardless of the sort

I doubt many people would opt for long tedious marriages ;-).

Coldness can sober/wake you up...of course, warmth then can make it come back with a vengeance. *NM*

If you don't want drama, don't invite family. Seriously, listen to the voice of experience here.

How can you *not* invite family? Family is all that matters. *NM*

That entirely depends on how you define family.

In your opinion. For me, as an example, it is the people I care for and respect that matter.
