Ugh, boiling is the worst thing you can do to most vegetables! Steaming is not much better. Most advice for healthy foods involve steamed vegetables. No thank you!
Also really most diet advice involves not eating a whole lot. I NEED calories. If I don't get enough calories I'm going to be hungry. It would be close to impossible to get enough calories from boiled or steamed vegetables and salads. That's the real reason I need to add a lot of oil- if I don't I'm still gonna be hungry.
hahaha, I would not be able to survive on the sample "healthy" menus I've seen. I would just be hungry. If I don't eat enough I can't fall asleep because my stomach is growling.
That isn't torturing or killing, unless you cook them for more than 15 minutes or something. I'm talking about the boiled green beans my grandmother cooked. When they are more gray than green, they are dead.

I love frying vegetables. (stir fry/ saute, I don't know what would be the best way to call it, stir fry and sautee soute sounds like there's not much oil used and I use plenty of oil, but it's not like I deep fry my vegetables either). I buy bags of frozen vegetables and keep a stockpile in the freezer so that I always have something to eat when I'm hungry. Ideally, I add some shrimp or chicken to the skillet as well. Usually it's peas and carrots (the carrots are pre-peeled and cut into little pieces).
