Then you don't understand context and this whole discussion is pointless. Joel Send a noteboard - 16/03/2011 11:28:47 PM
That really doesn't make much sense to me that saying some unnamed islands were affected in some unspecified way is a sign from Mother Nature. Sorry if you want to read some grand conspiracy into that but I just don't think his statement is clear.

He clearly specifies the way they were affected: They were hit by the tsunami, and obviously higher sea levels due to global warming would exacerbate the effects of such flooding. Please telling me your just working over time to be obtuse here; the alternative is rather appalling. (8
As for Rush you can’t claim to know exactly what he is talking about and admit that you are not even sure what he is talking about in the same reply. Well I guess you can but it doesn't make much sense. Just because Isaac doesn’t know what situation Rush was referring doesn't mean there isn’t another example out there. Goes back to that whole limitation of quotes out of context again. We can assume that Rush overstated who the "environmental community" is but beyond that we don't know what he is talking about. Maybe he was referring to the environmentalist the same way liberals refer to Tea Party, you And we have come full circle back to your double standard.

It's really simple: He didn't provide an example of what he was talking about for the very obvious reason that there is none--yet he made the accusation anyway. Making the accusation still requires him to prove the accusation, but I was giving him the benefit of the doubt on making it up completely because I hadn't read the transcripts: Now I have, and he did. While making light of the tragedy at length. The transcript doesn't change the meaning of his statement, it simply reinforces that statement and provides others as bad or worse. As I said above, it's practically a clinic in begging the question: He starts off with Obama, Obama, Obama, I really hate Obama, Obama sucks, and y'know, friends, the worst part is that the media's gonna try to bring Obama into this! Um, the evil liberal media didn't, YOU did, at length, just so you could complain about them doing it. Then it's "[environmentalists] are scrambling to blame this on global warming" even though he provides no example of them doing so and later all but admits he's begging the question when he talks about how they're "gonna try" to make global warming the culprit, that "they will". Not, they've done it, and here's the example of them doing it like I said earlier but more like I HAVE no such example or I'd reference it instead of promising you that they're GOING to do it, honest! Rush Limbaugh: The Precrime authority on politics.

there are enough carzies on the left to make things like this easy for Rush - 16/03/2011 04:20:47 PM 669 Views
So it doesn't matter that no one said it as long as he can plausibly claim they did. - 16/03/2011 06:58:17 PM 591 Views
well since it is taken out of context it is hard to say where Rush was going with it - 16/03/2011 07:19:46 PM 687 Views
Um... he stated where he was going with it. - 16/03/2011 07:30:02 PM 658 Views
