Since I see my name's in just about all your posts back and forth, let me clarify, the EESC's comments and Rush's are totally unrelated, IIRC the EESC thing took place well after. I presented the EESC statement because it stuck in my head as a recent and partially related example of how context is a big factor and that that that particularly statement - which I still think was pretty inappropriate - reads a good deal different - IMO - in its entirety then in the way it is going around, but when it is shown in its entirety to people who have already got the soundbite stuck in their heads, their opinions don't noticeably change. Rush is not talking about the EESC guy.
I am, and was, strictly trying to make a point about taking things out of context and also reminding people that neither side's pundits usually have to look far to find crazies who can then be pointed to, with varying degrees of accuracy, as somehow spokesman for the whole group.

So, how many drugs is Rush Limbaugh actually on?

Republican spin doctor Frank Luntz popularized "climate change" to make global warming appealing.

No. You don't get to say, "what he said doesn't matter because of how we learned of it".

I think Republicans should stop using "legitimate". I do not think it means what they think it means

there are enough carzies on the left to make things like this easy for Rush

So it doesn't matter that no one said it as long as he can plausibly claim they did.

well since it is taken out of context it is hard to say where Rush was going with it
