Seriously, you're going to see all kinds. I haven't seen or heard a single person say anything remotely like that. Is it all Facebook status updates? I mean yeah, it's fucking terrible -- but any society is going to have the dregs that say stupid shit like that. My comment to people who encounter people like that is: don't ignore them, confront them. Be that annoying person who tells them off in their Facebook status, if you see it. I mean my friends and I were just talking (over cool, dark beverages) about how we could help, and wouldn't it be awesome if we could go over there and volunteer. So yeah, that's shitty -- but people are stupid. And people are smart. And people don't care. And people do care. If anyone says anything remotely similar around me, they'll be called out -- and I don't care in what setting it is.

Japan is awesome. I tutored ESL to a bunch of kids from a Tokyo corporation for four years straight, and all they wanted to do was drink PBR and play Ultimate Frisbee. They told me I looked like Justin Timberlake. I loved those fucking kids; I hope they're okay, and really, really wish I still had their email addresses.

I cannot even copy his manner because the manner of his prose was the manner of his thinking and that was a dazzling succession of gaps; and you cannot ape a gap because you are bound to fill it in somehow or other -- and blot it out in the process. -- Nabokov
This makes me feel sick, and very angry.

At first I thought it was just really dark humor, which I admittedly have a taste for.

Atheists don't ever have twisted senses of justice? I must know quite a few believers in denial.

I think the point was that atheists don't tend to believe in divine retribution. *NM*
