He was convicted based on the testimony of the man who actually committed the murder and then rescinded his statement right before the executed him. If they had executed Graves first then the money would be a mute point. Situations like this are why I don't support the death penalty except it extreme cases. I suspect before it is all said and done they will figure out a way to fix this if for no other reason then the bad publicity will make it harder for them to get convictions in the future. If nothing else they should be able to re-file the charges and have him found innocent since they have zero evidence to convict him.
