I oppose brutal oppression; I'm unconvinced either side in this will end it, thus I withhold support

Sometimes I truly wish I lived in the popular black and white world, but then I remember that I do, and that mixing black and white invariably produces gray; the only way to make anything all black/white is to do away with the other entirely and eliminate choice. I'm no fan of Mubarak, but I'm also no fan of Iman Al Zawahiri, and since every analyst I've seen has said either the former will retain or allies of the latter gain power in Egypt I'm reluctant to support either side; Egypt as a whole loses either way and the opinion of an American living in any country save Egypt is largely irrelevant.

I fully support their right to demand democracy; I don't expect they'll get it, whatever happens.

I think terrorizing innocents and torching buildings is a poor way to claim the moral highground.
