And I am sick of the level of stupidity some otherwise intelligence people have gone to "prove" Palin is stupid. I mean really when the loonies are complaining that they think she wasn’t being sensitive enough when she defended herself against their slander then you really just have to throw your hands up and call it quits because you can't argue with crazy.

She said it, she didn't print it, so I believe it's slander or nothing (to be fair, I could be wrong, since it was broadcast).

When someone waits four days to comment on murders she knows darned good and well her inflammatory extremism helped motivate, whether or not the guy saw here site, then simply accuses one of the victims of "blood libel", you REALLY have to throw up your hands at those who join her out of some warped sense of loyalty.

Please shut up until you can draw a dotted line from conserative rhetoric to the attack in Arizona. Why in the name of sweet baby Jesus do you Palin's inflammatory extremism played a role? If you think inflammatory extereme was a factor all you need is a mirror to find who to blame.

I thought your whole argument was that it's horribly horribly wrong to try and "shut up" people for saying things with which you disagree? Or is it OK because I'm a horrible horrible liberal?

I think Palins inflammatory extremism and "us or them" rhetoric played a role because it's been incessant for two solid years and Loughner would've had to have been living under a rock to be unaware of rhetoric which would resonate strongly with him. Since he had accounts on both FB and MySpace, and since Palin regularly posts on the former (in fact, her "blood libel" statement was on FB) it appears his rock had DSL anyway.

Why is this so hard to grasp? Anyone going around in 1963 waving a shotgun while shouting that MLK had to be eliminated for racial purity would've been considered partly responsible for his murder the following year, even though James Earl Ray would still have been the one convicted of it.
