Tell me, what is the best way to learn math? Lordling Send a noteboard - 13/12/2010 06:27:34 PM
Fast, easy and without straining myself too much? Hah..If that only were possible :P

I'll be taking my matriculation examination in math mid-March. I've no idea what senior high school math is like elsewhere, but we've had ten obligatory courses, each one lasting 30 hours total (give or take a few). Geometry (the ordinary one and analytical), vectors, trigonometric functions, calculus etc. The range of the exam is daunting to me. A piece of cake to you, perhaps.

Now, we're currently having the first one of two recap courses at school. Actually, tomorrow is the penultimate time we meet. I realize I haven't learned or relearned much anything. I'd like to think I've had other important courses to focus on and social things to do on my spare time. And I've been lazy, that's true too. Now I mostly spend the lessons chatting with my friends since we sit in small groups in the class doing exercises and the teacher occasionally wanders around. Now and then we get something done.

I know I'll pass the exam since even if I know nothing the other exams (which have gone brilliantly) will compensate and magically allow me to pass mathematics, too. That's cool.

But math is sort of important and I've gotten good if not excellent grades in the past. I should at least get an M (magna cum laude something) which is the third best grade. People with no life dream of getting an L.

The depressing solution to my problem might be to bury myself in the math books I have. But..I have other exams, too. Biology is important. English is all-important. I've high hopes for Finnish. I don't want to spend my holidays doing math.

So please, people. Any tips? However useless.
