1. Fifa rankings don't mean shit. Italy was 14th when it won in 2006. Also, France has something that Australia does not: a World Cup, and a second place finish. The furthest Australia ever got was...the quarters? If that?
2. Several thousand out of millions? That's not much. In some countries (I know for a fact it was done in Italy) business owners had to give time off for workers to watch the games for fear of strikes and no shows.
3. True, South Korea's current diplomatic problems may have bearing...if it wasn't to be held in 12 years time. And like I've said in the past, HISTORY is what's important in the World Cup, not the current "FIFA Coca-Cola" world rankings.
4. Right, Brazil is. So why not let Argentina have 2022? It's been a while since they've had it.
5. Italy went two draws and a loss. We also have 2 World Cups and a second and third place finish in the last 28 years, not to mention our two previous World Cups and previous second place finish. We are the second most successful team in World Cup history behind only Brazil. How did Australia go out in 2006, again? Right, to us. What is it the "socceroos" have that we don't, exactly? That's right, nothing.

Because, out of all the choices for the 2022 Cup, the U.S. and Australia are the best choices

Your opinion that Australia is better than Japan and SK doesn't seem to be based on facts.
