Oh wow. I knew about Almunia and van Persie, but not Arshavin and the rest...

Looking at the team news I do think Standard Liege have a chance:
"Wenger's plans have been disrupted by a crop of injuries, with Robin van Persie (kneecap), Denilson (sore back) and Manuel Almunia (chest infection) all ruled out, joining Andrey Arshavin (groin and knee), Theo Walcott (back), Samir Nasri (broken leg), Johan Djourou (knee surgery), Carlos Vela (ankle, foot) and Lukasz Fabianski (knee) on the sidelines."
Yikes!
The betting exchanges though curretly have Standard Liege at 11/2, the draw at 3/1 and Arsenal at 1/2. I can't believe Arsenal are so short with those injuries? How are Standard Liege doing this season?
Er, not great. They won last season, and seem to have gotten their head a bit too far up in the clouds, suffering some embarrassing points losses in the first few games. Then they got into a very ugly and very publicized row with Anderlecht after one of their best players managed to break an Anderlecht player's leg... I'm not sure if the suspension he got for that will also count for the CL - they were discussing doing that, not sure if they did or not.
But yes, somewhat odd that the odds are *that* one-sided. Standard did nearly manage to get past Liverpool last year, and has had some other solid performances in Europe... if they manage to show up in top form against an injury-ridden Arsenal, surely they have a decent chance of a draw or more.
