He is Mr. Personality. He and his sister Brainmite are my two oldest kitties. Earwig takes his role as eldest cat quite seriously. When we would bring a new kitten into the house, he would immediately play the daddy role.

When our Zuma came to live with us, she was a feisty little thing. She didn't care that Earwig was 4x her size. With all the bravado of a little kitten, she would leap on him in a fake attack. Earwig would play along and dramatically tumble backwards when she leaped on him. He would also sit on a kitchen chair and dangle his tail down the back for her to chase.

Two of our kitties, Rawhead and Bloodybones, started out life as feral cats. While they have come a long way, they are still much more comfortable with other cats than with people. When they have to go to the vet, Earwig must go with them He's their protector, you see. At first, the vet raised an eyebrow and shook her head. When she tried to examine Rawhead, he started freaking out to the point she couldn't conduct the examine. She said, "What the heck," and put Earwig on the table beside Rawhead. He instantly calmed down and let her do the exam.

But Earwig gets bored easily. He will wander around the house and open every cupboard door and drawer. He even managed to open the fridge door where we used to live...and I blamed it on my husband!
