Most of our knowledge comes from multiple individuals who have researched a subject.

There is so much FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) and misinformation out there about pretty much everything that coming to a conclusion based on actual facts is a challenge most people don't have the time to overcome. Relying on someone else to do it for you is to place a huge amount of trust in that person... which is what the primary post is about. Of course, doing so is what opens us to said FUD/misinformation in the first place.
It's quite scary to think...
