This is in southern Canada, so I only know the temperatures in Celsius, but they're probably comparable to the ones you have. My heat was electric, not gas, so that might make a difference too. My entire electricity bill, which was all my electricity plus what I used for heat, was usually between $30 and $40 a month. The monthly heating bills you listed there kind of terrify me.

But that could partly be because I'm a guy, too. My girlfriend gets cold a lot more easily than I do, and likes the temperature turned up higher. What do you keep yours at? I kept mine at about 68F all through the winter and was perfectly comfortable. I may also have gotten some residual heat coming up from the apartment below me that helped me out.
