You really shouldn't be wondering why nobody is interested in Skype chat, then. Something tells me you don't remember WoTmania chat very well.
I didn't realize typing in your name and password was such a challenging skill; have you considered just staying logged in to things? Then you just have to turn on your computer.
I remember wotmania and its chat, at least what I witnessed, though I concede I didn't enter wotmania chat until around '06 or '07, IIRC. Bottom line remains the same: If you're complaining something you never use is slow BECAUSE you never use it, that's your doing, no one elses, so I find it hard to be sympathetic. As with so much else in the whole "WTF Is Chat?!!!" saga I feel anyone who dislikes how things are should stop complaining and do something about it, or stop complaining and live with it. Note the running theme.
There were a lot of folks wetting themselves and rioting when Mike announced wotmanias closure, too. Then there were others who took matters into their own hands and did something to preserve our beloved community online. I haven't always agreed with the methods chosen, but I either accept what they HAVE accomplished, with gratitude, or do it better. Since I can't do the latter I try to do the former, if with mixed success.
Also note I'm not implying I "accomplished" anything by downloading a piece of free software, but I think you take my point.

Nope, but there are multiple Skype chats dedicated to RAFO.

Because Skype is not made for permanent chatrooms and we get tired of waiting days for a message. *NM*

A whole lot has to do with how often you log in to Skype.

Thank you for proving my point. Most people have no interest in logging in daily. *NM*

Then I dare say there's no problem.

So you only care about people who have the ability to log in every day?

Sometimes it seems like the REAL complaint is that no one else makes it as effortless as Mike did

RAFO also doesn't have a Huckleberry Finn, but it's still an okay distraction. *NM*
