Tape, CD, etc?
I was too young to purchase records, but I loved my father's collection. I seriously think that the first tape I had was Thriller.
I know my sister had Dancing on the Ceiling at some point. Gosh, we're awesome.

The first album I BOUGHT was probably Styx, Paradise Theatre. My brother had the vinyl album produced with the laser etching on it. I just had a cassette tape (there were no CDs yet).
I think the first one I had a copy of on tape even though I didn't own the album was Kiss, Destroyer.
I am, of course, ignoring various kid's albums and stuff.
May God stand between you and harm in all the empty places you must walk.

The first thing I actually bought for myself and considered mine was the Ghostbusters 2 soundtrack.
