Being Catholic is a choice. If what you believe goes against Catholic teaching do not be Catholic.
The Catholic Church isn't oppressing any group since people can choose whether or not they want to be Catholic. That's like me saying I'm being oppressed in the Uottawa Italian Club because I don't like the rules of the club. Well, at any time I can leave. Slavery is oppression. What happens to women and homosexuals in countries like Iran is oppression.
Do you think we'd describe American slavery (or any slavery for that matter) as oppression if at any time the slave can simply choose not to be a slave anymore? Of course not, to suggest otherwise would be silly.
If you're gay and Catholic and don't like the rules of the Church, there are plenty of other churches that would be happy to have you. If you're gay and you follow the rules of the Catholic Church, I'm happy to call you brother.
