My girlfriend is from Bolivia, so I'm a little more in tune with it than I used to be. Otherwise, though, most Americans don't think about the place much.
It's great to hear about the rescue. I'm pretty sure it would make even more news if it were in West Virginia, but the same complaints could still be raised. I'd like to chalk this one up to people being starved for good news. I can't really blame them.
