1. What kind of appliances do you have in your kitchen?
I have boring white appliances. They go better than black or stainless in my old house. I also have an old cat-iron wood cookstove, so I have to kind of make the things I choiose for the kitchen seem old or antique-ish.2. How do you feel about them?
They work. I don't care otherwise.3. How would your dream kitchen be equipped? (If you are the type who thinks about these things, I'd be happy to hear about the whole picture, not just the appliances.)
Well. I would have a six-burner stove with a larger oven. I make large batches of soup, and do some canning. That requires more work space so everything can be done quicker. And more counter space. MUST HAVE more counter space.4. Do you think white can ever look good? (I'm thinking of some floating glass appliances I've seen... link at bottom.)
Pfft, white is fine.5. Which do you consider more important in home design: resale value, or personal tastes/comfort? Would it change if you were planning to sell about 10 years down the line?
I am not selling my house, so I set it up how I bloody want it. If I ever do sell it, they can remodel if they want. 6. Are there any home design fads you really hate?
not really.7. Any you love?
8. Have you ever liked something, then pulled away from it just because it was a fad?
Huh? no.9. What do you think is going to be labeled the "'00s" look in a few decades?
ooh good question. Kind of like orange and chartreuse floral wallpaper from the 70's! Heh, no idea.10. What's your favorite feature of your kitchen?
I don't think about it too much.I think when designing a kitchen you have to build it to suit your needs. Which will suit you better, a double sink, or a huge single sink? Gas or electric range? flooring is more important to me than what the counter is made of. And cabinetry should be practical. etc.
