Children were there. Why? If their parents decided to send them there as part of a political demonstration, that's bad. If they decided to organise themselves and join in the protest without their parents knowing about it, that's extremely clever & informed children combined with weirdly absent parenting.

Once again: They did in fact organise themselves, their parents probably knew about it and there was absolutely no reason to worry about it for them since nobody could have expected something like that.
As for being informed: it is hardly possible at the moment not to know about the station here, the media are full of it.
I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when
there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.
