1st: No parents brought their kids there. That is exactly the lie our state gouvernment tries to tell us. The children and youths were there on their own, on an official event the police either knew about or should have known about.
2nd: about the tarps: it was a rainy day and dozens of people were staying in the park for quite a long time. Not bringing anything against the rain would have been much more remarkable.
BTW even our two rather conservative local newspaers are beginnign to put a blame on the police.
