You can have an inflammatory joint disease that's idiopathic, rheumatoid, osteoarthritic, etc...etc... It's just kind of a catch-all term for inflammation-in-a-joint disease.
That's what I figured, probably idiopathic (aka, "I don't know, but it has something to do with inflammation" ) since RA is unlikely. Although really OA shouldn't be included since the inflammation is secondary. It seems like IJD basically boils down to RA and not RA. I didn't know there was really a classification for the latter. I suppose it makes it sound more formal

As a fun side note on this subject, there is a horse in the hospital now with inflammatory joint disease...in his temporohyoid joint. It's crazy stuff!!
(If you don't know what the temporohyoid joint is, it's the joint up near the ear-area where the bone-apparatus supporting some laryngeal structures and the tongue attaches to the skull)

Unfortunately (?) humans don't have one of those. I wonder what it would be like if we did

In humans, the hyoid is relatively small (not sure about horses) but also connected to your larynx. I don't think it articulates with any other bone, oddly enough.

I've never dealt with it personally, but I hope it doesn't end up affecting you too much

No idea, but hope it's something correctable and you're feeling better soon.

There's nothing wrong with it - it's good stuff - but fish oils contain much more DHA.
