His boss has said that whatever the guy legally gets up to in his spare time is his own business. He's only concerned about how good an employee he is and it sounds like he meets the boss's standards.
As for the blog itself, it sounds like your fairly standard over the top political ranting and accusations. The swastika is also a fairly common, if over the top political statement. People with right-wing causes have to put up with that sort of thing all the time. I don't see why this stuff is suddenly so horrible it should be grounds for dismissal from an unrelated job just because it's about gay issues rather than some other political issue.
So yeah, the guy certainly sounds kooky (although since we know nothing of the situation, we don't know if any of his gripes are legitimate or not), but I don't know if he's kookier than a lot of other political bloggers, in the grand scheme of things, nor do I think he should be fired, since all this has nothing to do with his job, as his boss has said.
