Not arrogance really but an unwillingness to make being on time a priority. If you can be on time when it is important then it follows that when you are late it is because you didn't feel being there on time was important.


It's more important for me to be focused and awake while I'm at work. I've tried coming in early and I could do it. Drastic measures. But the end result is that I would be groggy all day, unable to focus, making mistakes. So yes, since my job isn't just to sit in the chair but to create output (and mostly self-motivated, lots of leeway in what I do), it's far more important to be alert rather than get there 1 hour early and then be useless all day.

However, I am very concerned that as soon as I relax just a bit, the arrival time creeps to unacceptably late. I want to change it. I want to have both - be there on time and feel well.
