With me wondering why a house would have two more bathrooms than bedrooms.
Had I been critiquing capitalism, labor or similar such concepts that would be a good rebuttal, but I was specifically focusing on the idea that we can transition to a service economy and everything will be fine. We've been trying that for decades and there just aren't enough people out there who value a few hundred bucks/week for maid services less than they value not cleaning up after themselves. They're out there; I used to know a guy whose mother made her living doing just that. You just can't expect it to support a 300,000,000 person economy.
Sure. I just don't hear them saying that BECAUSE they do that we don't need a social safety net for people who fall victim to flaws they refuse to admit exist in our system. When Buffet said his side is winning the class war it wasn't a compliment.
What I mean is that when a nation is third largest on Earth by both size AND population, being able to get from end of the other of it without needing a jet is a vital national interest. The good news for you is that Texas seems to be the model for national Republicanism, so soon the politicians and bureaucrats will be done taking your money for roads: Soon, REPUBLICAN politicians and bureaucrats will sell your roads to a company overseas and THEY'LL take your money every time you drive roads you still pay to maintain. And, y'know, amend the Constitution to define marriage to be between one man and one woman.
At least we've been able to determine that a $30,000,000 house with more bathrooms than bedrooms is a better use of resources than being able to get an ambulance or relief convoy from MI to LA.
People pay others for what they want, no matter what your income level.
And I wasn't talking about that being the only kinds of jobs "the rich" create. I was simply saying that is a kind of job that they do create and the people who have the job are happy to get it since we don't engage in slavery, indenture, or feudalism here and they can thereby not take the job if they don't want it.

As for the your Republicans creating those jobs trope. Fuck that. You never hear about a Democrat having a mansion or having servants, huh?

As for your tax dollars building anything, well, they might build a couple of feet of it most. What you mean to say is that you'd rather take the money from people who can build nicer things than you can afford to build and have the government build an highway out of their money. Of course, they've already spent billions and billions on the highways you don't like. Perhaps one day if we take enough of other people's money, we can eventually build enough of the things that you think should be built with their money. Because you, bureaucrats, and politicians are so much better at efficiently and judiciously allocating the resources and priorities in a dynamic economy.

Why do you need six bathrooms if you only have four bedrooms?

The original price was $32,000,000 as shown on that site. It is now listed elsewhere at $25,000,000.
