You really need a makeover. This blocky, dull, uninteresting look is just not doing anything for me.
You suck longer and harder than the people who bitch about the cover art ruining the books for them. The content is what is important and if the look is enough to turn someone off, they aren't the sort of people I want to be discussing WoT with. We already have enough idiots who ignore the text for IMAGINARY superficial appearance issues (such as thinking Cadsuane in a bikini would be a horrific sight, despite the fact that Aes Sedai never wrinkle), we really don't need any more nincompoops who were drawn to us by the pretty colors. Excise the bit about WoT, and the rude bits, and I agree.
Well, the thing is, many people probably don't stay here long even if they stumble upon the place just because it isn't nearly as big as other sites. And honestly, who stays at a place just for the pretty design? No one, but having said that, a nicer layout could make them more interested to take a closer look in the first place.
I know there's not a lot of traffic here so maybe if we jazz it up we could be more appealing!
People suck. The more traffic, the more suck. Fact of life. You only want to increase traffic if you receive financial recompense. And we don't. Agreed. People in general are disappointing. Don't ask me to stand by these words at a time when I am more happy with mankind. But yes.
Wow, the misanthropy here is astounding. If you really hate people that much, what's the point?
It's nice and respectful that you followed wotmania's old look but it's time to be your own person...er website. I'm thinking maybe instead of blocks on the side we could do some kind of bubble or leaf motif (you like that rhyme?). And get rid of the pasty white background. If you don't want some sort of art in the background then how about just a color that's not white? I like the green. Maybe we could run with some type of forest/elf design?
Why don't books have green pages? Because its a distraction and inhibits the reading. People come here to read what others have to say, and write things for others to read. If you want to look cool while lurking/posting on your douchey little Mac in a cybercafe, may I suggest...um, no. Sorry, not even that faggy background you proposed would help. Hey. Lay off mac. It is a superiour operating system, not an accessory, even if some people treat it as one. But yes. Your point stands. Althought faggy? Really?
haha. I do think some people treat it as an accessory, even if it is capable of much more. I'm thinking of my father who has an iphone, but really doesn't use it that much. Then he will complain that he can't do xyz because of whatever reason, except that it's very easy to do if you know how to use the device.
So good people of RAFO, I ask you, in a perfect world, what should RAFO look like?
Like it does! Change blows. This is true. In a great many avenues of life.
Change must be embraced. Those who don't become obsolete.

It's easier to mess around at work when the site doesn't look like an elfin playground.

Art in the background was something used by teenagers on angelfire.

I am totally with you. Part of the reason I love this site is that it is so easy to use and read. *NM*

I'd put a language filter and Local Events list higher on my list of changes.
