I would have to say Itzhak Perlman was incredible even when I was sitting in the middle of the top balcony in BFE.
John Frederic West was the first live performance of vocal Wagner I had ever seen. Incredible that there are beings that are able to project their voice like he does. But then he sings a lot of Wagner from what I understand.

The last two are of my cello professor, Dr. Alan Smith (what? I feel loyal). First, when I was in 6th grade he performed Dvorak's Cello Concerto with the local community orchestra. This was the first time I had ever heard a cello live in my life, outside of HS people that played/tutored in the grade schools. I was sitting there realizing all a cello is capable of.
The second was in 1998 and was a pre-tour recital. His wife, Diana Smith was the pianist he performed with and she was amazing. The woman could do just about anything on a piano. And when they played it was intuitive and exactly together. I could see them actually playing together. Displaying how things should be . . .

Anyway. Those are mine.
