I apologize - I don't want you to think I am accusing you of shredding anyone, so I'm editing.
I don't have anything nice to say, however, because I think it's exceedingly silly to assume that Joel has no "Mustang GT convertibles" in his life. Or that even if he does not, that his stance on HC is somehow invalid because he has posted things here that, iyo, prove that he's squandering his money. If it's invalid for its own sake, that's something else entirely.
We all know that the true problem here is that he disagrees with you on the entire health care issue, and I'm tired of the argument that if you are in favor of changes to the way these things are covered, you must be a lazy bastard who wants to keep all your money for the cell phones, big screen tvs, etc. Or the other lazy bastard who would rather do that with someone else's money. If you want to argue that the govt shouldn't make changes, then argue that and make a real case for it.
And yes, if he doesn't want to put himself in the middle of the fight, he shouldn't post here. I've already told him that. It just so happens that I know exactly what he's going through, since I'm in exactly the same boat. And with three jobs, I can't afford dental care either, because I have already got a couple GTs that I'm slowly working my way around. I fully intend to pay for my own shit when I get there, because I was raised that way -- it also happens that I think there are things that can be altered with the way we pay for insurance/health care/treatment/etc. Does that mean I've wasted all of my money and am now eager for some of yours? No. It means I have a brain that's allowed to believe different things than yours does. If you want the soapbox back to prove me wrong, that's fine. I'd prefer you didn't use it to dissect personal choices you haven't had to live through.
(I'm not trying to unlove you or Joe, I'm simply feel very strongly about the inevitable errors in trying to pick apart other people's "flaws." )
