That's why despite a full time job with "full" dental (capped at $1400) the dentist suggested I go to Mexico for two root canals and... 17 fillings. Just one of the many things I've been putting off (as some of you may have noticed... ) to try to stay employed and keep my car running. So, as of Friday, I won't have to worry about the job anymore--which means I won't have insurance as of the moment I clock out for the last time, until/unless I go COBRA, which will take 3-4 weeks just for ME to get the paperwork, let alone send it back with money and get my insurance reinstated. Should be toward the end of October. I leave the US on 4 November. I've been trying REALLY hard not to revert to my old habit of whining on the CMB, but... !
Think that just about covers it. Oh, except: Anyone have $10k they don't need...?
EDIT: Finally got someone at HR; apparently (I did not know this) COBRA is retroactive from the date I leave the company, should I choose to go that route. How that will impact the standard "all payment is due at time of service" policy of medical providers in general and dentists in particular (because they trust my insurer about as much as I do) I have no idea.
EDIT 2: At least I don't have to deal with horrible bureaucracies like those poor SOBs in socialist countries; the company says I may be able to continue dental coverage without having to continue medical and optical, but I'd have to ask the COBRA people (they gave me the number. ) When I called them, they said I'd have to ask my company. So apparently no one knows, but everyone thinks someone else does. Right; I may have a root canal (or not) in three hours and work in five: *mwah* G'night, everbody!
