If you don't like how the Catholic Church operates, fine. Don't be Catholic.
.

I have several catholic friends who dislike some of the aspects of the catholic church. they identify themselves as catholics and wouldn't change the way they worship for anything. i told them about this story and they were shocked.

If you don't want to/can't follow the rules of your chosen religion, then leave or expect to be expelled. The same goes for religious schools and work programs.

expulsion from a religion? that is totally ridiculous. you could be asked to leave an individual church, coven, synagogue ect if you being there outrages people. noone has the right to say "nope, you can't be a catholic any more because you are gay. go piss off and be a protestant or something".

yes you have the right to choose a religion, or to not choose one at all. it shouldn't matter if you are gay, straight, bi, disabled, black, white ect. its Your Choice
