I feel for you man but the immature kid in me was sniggering about "opening her up" *NM*

So last night I had another date with Marie, the gal who was introduced to me by Journey (chronicled in previous posts). We've known since the end of the first date that neither of us was interested in the long term because that meant long distance, but it was nice to have someone to hang out with and do fun stuff with. When I dropped her off last night, she told me that I had "restored her faith in men" and that she had met someone fantastic that she was already getting really close to. The guy, named Mike, had been trying to take her out for awhile but she'd kept her shields up until the ludicrous situation that was our date opened her up again.
She was glowing a little talking about him. Then she gave me a kiss on the cheek, thanked me for opening her up again, and asked me to keep in touch, which I plan to do. She doesn't Facebook, but we e-mail a lot. Meanwhile I drove home and stared at a wall for awhile.
Sure was nice of me, helping another guy get such a relationship with a great girl, eh?
Love frustrates me. I am word person and it drives me crazy that a single word is used to cover so many different things. I love God. I love my parents. I love my siblings. I love my friends. I still love the two exes who broke my heart the most. And here I am, still wanting to fall in love. It's one of the things I am looking forward most to in going back to school, getting back into the dating scene without the whole "29 year old who lives with his parents" thing hanging over my head.
I've heard plenty of people who claim that love is a lie and I don't agree with them. I also reject "Hollywood" love wholesale, the type that mistakes the "in-love" feeling for the genuine article.
It makes my head spin. What do you think of, when confronted with the "L" word?
