Well there was a man crossing the street against a red light in front of me Saturday.

I had already been stuck at my red light for way too long and this guy who had started to cross the street when his walking signal had already gone from flashing red to solid red and kept mosying along and was almost right in front of my truck when my light turned green. There was a long line of cars behind me and he was ambling along in what looked like an almost purposely slow pace. Having no way to communicate with him, I reved my engine just a little to get his attention and pointed at the light. He stopped and pointed his rolled up newspaper (interesting coincidence there, huh?) and started shaking it at me while shaking his head and telling me off. He looked like a normal person. He was casually well dressed older man that looked like he was around 60. I didn't have the ready made excuse for him that he was homeless or mentally ill. I pointed at the light and mouthed "Please" imploringly and I think that the people on the sidewalk may have been telling him to get out of the way too. Finally he stepped far enough out of the way for me to pass but he still left me wondering what his problem was.
It floors me enough when people cross a street or parking lot as slow as they can get away with. I try to tell myself that maybe they are hurt and can't walk any faster but sometimes that is hard to buy. But when someone would walk against a red light and then stop - in front of a long line of cars with a very short window to gett through the light -and purposely hold them up...I just can't imagine what kind of arrogance they must possess.

Entirely unexpected and inappropriate behavior.

Well isn't it "entirely unexpected" because it hardly ever happens?

Contrary to what you hear in Europe, we don't see that kind of thing every day.

In America we burn people at the stake for disrupting church services, like decent civilized folk.
