Jeezus. If someone hides you, it doesn't mean they hate you. The supposed hidden meanings behind actions on facebook is a bit amusing. (I don't mean the author here- people in general...) If your best way to "get back" at someone is to hide their comments or unfriends them, then you need to further develop your positive conflict resolution skills.
I know that not everyone gives a crap if I am on my way to lunch or whatever. If my updates annoy people, I expect them to hide me, and do not care if they do. This article makes me laugh.
Do people really think that if someone has 152 friends that they are going to read through everyone's updates? Do I expect them to care about mine?
It sounds like people need to change their expectations.
