Redskins, the rest of the division is week, having lost key players, coaches or both. The skins are the only team to retain key components while adding elite players like Haynesworth.

NFC NORTH
Chicago

Minnesota

Green Bay, Minnesota's pick up of Favre is a wash, it will help them but not much. Cutler doesn't have great weapons and the Bears have an aging defense. Detroit...need i say anymore? Green Bay has a great new defensive coordinator in Dom Capers and Aaron Rodgers has another year under his belt and has been looking great. He has a rocket arm, a great release, and weapons.

NFC SOUTH
New Orleans
Atlanta
Tampa Bay
Carolina

New Orleans, the Saints have, statistically, the top qb in the league alongside Manning and Brady. Reggie Bush should be healthy, but the biggest addition is the defense. Gregg Williams should make full use of elements that the Saints have been putting in place over the last couple years. Not to mention Atlanta rode the tide of a new great qb's momentum, when they really didn't have that much talent. Tampa Bay and Carolina are mediocre and have qb questions.

NFC WEST
Seattle
San Francisco
St. Louis
Arizona


Seattle, Kurt Warner played great for Arizona, but there will be questions midway through the year when they perform, like last year, at a .500 mark, as to whether this should be Leinart's team. SF is still a year and a qb away from the playoffs. STL is under its first year with a new head coach, but has most of the same losing components as last year. Seattle gets back a healthy Hasslebeck who at the very least should be effective and upgrades at receiver with Houshmenzadeh.

NFC Wildcard?

Minnesota and the Giants. Both have talent, but not enough to win their respective divisions.

NFC Champ?

Difficult, since no team has really a clear lead in talent or established any form of dominance over the last few years. I think whoever it is will be a team that starts off the beginning of the season and middle well, but struggles a little towards the end. There will be several teams like these and the one to make the super bowl will be the team that establishes a dominant run in the playoffs. I think either the Packers or the Redskins could do this. Since I'm from DC, I'll put my money on the Skins

Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, Roethlisburger is finally starting to earn the credit I've been saying he deserves for years. With the exception of Tom Brady, there's no other qb more feared at the end of games. His ability to scramble and retain the presence of mind necessary to make a great throw is unparalleled in today's game. Baltimore is good and so is Flacco, but they have an aging defense and no weapons on offense.

AFC SOUTH
Tennessee
Houston
Indianapolis
Jacksonville

Indianapolis, the Colts have won this division year after year, and, although they did not last year, I think they'll return to their dominant form. Manning is healthy and looks great, Tennessee will undoubtedly have distracting questions about when this team will become Vince Young's.

AFC WEST
San Diego
Oakland
Denver
Kansas City

This might shock a few people, but I'm picking Kansas City. The Raiders are awful, Denver lost it's star QB and still has an awful defense. SD has consistently underperformed, not to mention they have a moron for a head coach. KC picked up a franchise qb in Cassell, still has Larry Johnson and Dwayne Bowe. Defensively, they have some good components in Tamba Hali and others. I think if they win 9 games it could be enough to win the division.

AFC Wildcard?

Buffalo and Jax.

AFC Champ?

Pittsburgh.


Superbowl?

Pittsburgh v Washington. Just to prove I'm not a total homer, Pittsburgh repeats.
