I'd get some. I don't know if "roach motels" are the same thing, I've never had to use them. What I wouldn't use are bait traps designed to be food bait. That will only attract more of the things.
Put all your dry goods in sealable containers (sugar, flour, cereal, etc). Keep your counters free of available crumbs and water. If you will be "leaving the dishes" for another time, keep them submerged under water so they aren't attracted to the food bits stuck on the dishes.
Let's hope this scout simply returned to the brotherhood and reported that you're too intimidating-looking to mess with, and they'll avoid your place.
