If I'm looking to make a big purchase, I'll do my research and usually buy from someone else, because Amazon's prices are rarely rock bottom (though they're not bad). What I use Amazon for is buying lots of random crap. For example, my last purchase there consisted of a ping pong paddle, 600 piece container of gum (I like gum ), a PHP book, and a stuffed penguin. lol
Why do I go to Amazon for that? Because they have everything. It's all there under one roof, in a gigantic heap. Which, consequently, makes it hard to sift through and find exactly what you're looking for.
So yeah, I agree with you. Not sure why I typed all this just to get to that point. Bedtime!

Don't "shop" at Amazon. Go there once you know EXACTLY what you want, and buy it.
