I read it on the back of (i think) NotW. So what's the deal with American sports club owner wanting to buy premiere league clubs? why the recent interest? obviously the big names are glaziers, gillet and hicks, some guy just bought a large share of Arsenal, but why? Largely (with exceptions at Sunderland and maybe another) this hasn't been received well by fans, managers or lovers of football. This isn't America bashing, Portsmouth suffered due to foreign investment as did Notts County among others, but it certainly seems that American investors are liking the look of Premiere clubs.
Is it a status thing? cos lord knows they don't make money, they mostly haemorrhage it. Are club owners in America, whether they be American or foreign, whether its american football or basketball or baseball, liked? Do they enjoy being at the fore or do they meddle? In england i think its mostly agreed that all owners ought to do is pay the salaries and make money available for signings.
What do you think when you see your club owner buying other clubs? I'd be thinking that there'd be less money to invest in my club? Although saying that looking at american sports salaries they absolutely dwarf footballer's anyway, so maybe it's not seen as that much of a loss.
