However, if you know how to set up a dual boot system, you know enough to do your own googling. 

I did google the WordPad thing, but so far have found nothing. I think there might be a way to do it from the registry, but I don't want to try unless I see that someone else has done it first.
What I don't like about using Windows 7...

You cannot change the default settings in WordPad but there is a kind of workaround.
