Usually I tend to like Dutch football, but this time they were really nasty. Some might say it's not like basketball where you aren't allowed to even touch your opponent, but neither is it full contact kung fu.
I don't mind the game being physical (people are always going to make some contact when making tackles or both chasing the ball) but it should be fair as well. That kick on Alonso was the worst but there was far too much kicking of players instead of the ball... I'm pretty sure van Bommel kicked Spanish players more often than the ball in fact.

Oh, I agree with all of those points. Earlier action could have made for a cleaner match too, maybe.
