Daphne is a cat that we originally found in the middle of a busy road in my hometown. I've had her now for almost 4 years, and I love her to bits. She was so tiny when I first found her (well, aside from her big bat ears) that I had to section off my house and slowly open it up as she grew, for fear that she would fall into one of the vents.
Now, because I've had her on the same schedule of being fed at 7:30 AM/7:30PM for 4 years, she wakes me up every morning. She likes knocking things off my bedside table when I don't get up fast enough; nothing is safe: glasses, cell phone, books, water glasses, etc...she can be very persuasive. Her new thing is pulling all of the tissues out of the box, one by one, all the while looking at me and going, "you're making me do this". Regardless, or maybe because of this, I love her tremendously.
She is also extremely preferential in her love giving, and although a majority of the people that she meets, she dislikes (and they resent her for it), she greets me at the door every day and then runs into my room to start loving all over me and brushing her face against mine while I am changing. It's a good relationship.
Ianto was another stray we found in my hometown (my mom somehow has all of the strays gravitate towards her house to be fed...I guess she's a cat lady). He's all black with big, emerald eyes. I thought he was about 6 months old when he first came by because of how tiny he is (especially next to Daphne, whom I swear it part giant). He has adjusted to the house nicely, and aside from his jumping up onto my cabinets and counter tops, he is an adorable cat. He sleeps on Colin in the summer and me on the winter (he's a heat mooch, so he likes me in the winter because Colin produces 0 heat). He never meows, he only chortles, which is endearingly cute.
Both my cats have a thing for corks and q-tips, so when people come over they probably think we're extreme alcoholics, due to the quantity of corks spread out across every room of our house.
Edit: if you look at my signature, there is a picture of Daphne when she was a couple of months old (you can distinctly see her bat ears).
