Today I learned something about contemporary music! Can someone confirm this?

According to my brother, three of the songs he likes to sing a lot are actually the same song. The song(s) in question is/are the one that goes "If you like it then you should have put a ring on it," over and over again, the one that goes "all the single ladies, all the single ladies" over and over again, and another one with a woman yammering about how people in the club are "up on me" and instructing someone not to "pay him any attention."
Is he pulling my leg? He played a recording, but I remember it being on Glee and they like to f*** with perfectly good songs by mixing them with hip-hop crap, so for all I know this is another one of their "mash-up" abortions.
This is the little weasel, who, on the way to the movies to see Shrek (don't bother) Monday night, was playing all sorts of garbage on the radio, and then stopped on one station and said "Here's something for [Cannoli]," in the tones of one granting an enormous favor. They were playing "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes. When I gave him the evil glare that makes waitresses apologize profusely for getting my order wrong and cashiers stop offering me a membership in their store's discount clubs, he protested, "What? It's old, I thought you'd like it!" Doesn't sound like the kind of little SOB who'd tell the truth about his stupid music, does he?

It's the same song. The song is called "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," by Beyoncé Knowles.
