"postponed indefinitely" is commonly used, and known to be used, as a delicate way of saying it isn't happening ever.

I'm not responsible for how others misuse and abuse the English language. If nothing else, the body of the the post should clarify that I'm using the phrase literally rather than in a popular (but incorrect) figurative one.
