How many people out there who get degrees that are totally worthless? Mine would have been if I had not planned on going to law school, and if I didn't go I would have changed my major.
i had a great plan for going the route i did for my bachelor's but life throws us curveballs sometimes and my plan didn't work the way i was told it would. basically, i did a bachelor's in physics, minor in math and computer science with an idea i would get certified to teach those subjects at the high school level. i found a couple of programs that would give me an accelerated course into certification and get the education degree requirements out of the way but one wanted way too much money for their program (over $15k for one year) and the other told me i didn't have enough math courses to be certified in it. in other words, i needed one more year's worth of math courses to be certified to teach high school math.
of course, i also found out that even though the schools had been insisting they needed math and science teachers, what they really meant was that they needed biology and chemistry teachers, and math was just an afterthought. so i had to go back to school, finish the computer science major and totally rethink my career path. but never once did it ever enter my head that a degree in physics would end up being useless as a career move.

I don't see the point in a humanities major if you aren't planning to get more than a bachelor's.
