This would sound better if you didn't say yourself the support was mostly fake

You're basically accusing Fox News of having a bias for reporting that many Dems were siding with the war for reasons you yourself acknowledge were often the case. Now, by the way, there are actually few occasions FNC actually tangibly did that, Hannity or O'Reilly screaming about the liberals can't realistically be counted.
Okay though, for the sake of argument let's say they are biased, more or less than the NYT or MSNBC? Are you going to say then that those aren't biased or deserve to not be called news outlets?
How can reporting something you say is the truth count as the cornerstone case against them? It is news, politician should be held to public scrutiny. The public deserves to hear about it and had every right to draw the conclusion that they did, that many on the left came off as "I think he doth protest too much" on the patriotism part, and that their loyalties too often came off as self-interest not principle. I don't really think Fox made an effort to say this, more that a lot of other news agencies made an effort not to, and where bias is concerned, on say or no say, I think no say is a worse example of bias.

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
