If a third party gets an enormous amount of the vote, it's cause for concern among the two major parties.
Again, wouldn't the better way be to not vote, period?
No, because then your "nay" vote gets conflated with the "I'm too lazy to vote" vote.
So? I'm personally not too lazy to vote. I mean, you could always go to vote, but not vote on a particular issue, or office. I refuse to vote for anyone I don't think can do the job well. But as far as getting confused with other people who are too lazy to vote, so what? If someone has a problem with my level of laziness they can go stick something up their own ass, because I'm obviously too lazy to do it for them
It is about getting a message across. If you don't want to vote for someone you don't have confidence in, at least spoil your ballot. That way it gets counted as a vote that is not for the main parties, and opposition vote. That is the only way to get the message across.
